Day 24 - Barcelona, Spain

Our final day…. We had a full day at sea as we didn’t dock until 4:00pm. Geoff and I headed to the spa early this morning, as Josh headed off to say his final goodbyes to all his friends. We met and had burgers for lunch on the pool deck. This afternoon was spent packing, as it was quite a job after 22 days on board. With that finished, we headed to the pool deck to relax and read. Josh got another hour with his buddies and we had a nap on deck. Later we had to locate a few missing items. Last night Josh gave 2 of his rings to Geoff to take back to the room, but only one made it back. We are still hopeful it will get turned in. I lost a shirt in the laundry and Geoff lost a pair of pants. Though those items were located and we got ready for our Flamenco dinner in Barcelona.

The dinner in Barcelona was very good. Too much food, but really tasty. The Flamenco show was not quite as I expected, though it was very entertaining. Not only the women dance the art of Flamenco but men also dance. The dancing style is very emotional and passionate. The costumes were quite nice, and the band sat right on stage while the dancing was going on. The musician also danced while he sang. There were two gentlemen who clapped out the rhythm, which I found fascinating. A really nice way to wrap up our trip. Early tomorrow we are off to the airport to begin the trip home.

  2. Nice post. Barcelona is an entirely different world of inconceivable shapes, vibrant hues, serpentine streets. Barcelona has the grandest castles in all Europe. There are huge cannons surrounding the statue of a naked woman. Interesting places of Montjuïc are the Magical Fountains, Catalan National Art Musuem, and the Olympic Stadium. Enjoy the musical magic fountain with its overall lighting and water spurts. There are numerous craft shops and a museum to explore. In Barcelona Zoo there are wide-ranging animals and dolphins giving performances. You can see kiddie brigade like picnicking spots, eatery, electric cars, horses and a ride on a mini train. 3. Mokah, Geoff and Josh,

What an amazing trip. I think Mokah should take up travel narrating as the blog is awesome. You have obviously seen, intentionally and unintentionally, things of interest to all of you.

Not sure when you will be back in Calgary but I thought this would be the best way to get in touch with you guys quickly.

Claire & Michaela have postponed their birthday until Aug 24-25 (tues-wed) and have requested Josh's presence if he is available and interested. He will be with 11 girls and it is a sleep-over which he more than welcome to pass but if he wants to come for the party go for it. I will send the invitation via e-mail to you.

Can't wait to hear about your trip
    Carol
